She couldn’t go alone. Not for pride exactly, but for something quieter and harder to name. So she posted on a dating app and got exactly one response. Remi is not a stranger. Not entirely. He went to the same college as Sable and Callum, existed in the same spaces, watched from the outside of a story he was never invited into. When her post appeared on the app he recognized her immediately and said yes before he thought it through. He shows up knowing more than he should and gives none of it away. He is warm, unhurried, and immediately better at this than any stranger has a right to be. One shared cottage. One bed.
