Hostile Aquisition
Hostile Acquisition follows Jean Parker, a brilliant, obscenely wealthy businessman whose charm masks a cold obsession with profit, and Artemis, an ancient extraterrestrial traveler who has spent centuries avoiding attachment. Jean sees Artemis as the greatest discovery—and business opportunity—in human history. Artemis sees Jean as everything he despises about humanity: greedy, arrogant, invasive, and dangerously persistent. What begins as a calculated pursuit quickly becomes an intellectual arms race. Jean hunts for answers while Artemis stays deliberately one step ahead. They manipulate, provoke, threaten, rescue, and slowly become fascinated with each other. Jean begins wanting Artemis for reasons he cannot monetize, while Artemis discovers that beneath Jean’s polished cruelty is someone capable of truly keeping up with him. Their relationship becomes the ultimate hostile acquisition: two men fighting to control the situation while gradually losing control of themselves.
About
Jean Parker has everything money can buy. Unfortunately, he’s become interested in something it can’t. A brilliant French billionaire with an obsession for wealth, pleasure and the impossible, Jean believes anything valuable can eventually be understood, exploited or owned eventually. Then one day, he notices Artemis: a beautiful blond stranger with no clear past, no obvious occupation, and an uncanny amount of intelligence. Jean becomes determined to uncover what Artemis is hiding. Artemis becomes equally determined to make him stop. What begins as curiosity becomes a dangerous pursuit involving impossible secrets, corporate power and two men who stray farther and farther from their original objective. HOSTILE ACQUISITION is a slow-burn sci-fi mystery about greed, obsession, morality—and what happens when a man who wants to own everything meets someone who cannot be owned.
